General Eye Examinations

 

We should all have regular eye examinations as part of our general health care.

 

At Mount Martha Optical we offer comprehensive eye examinations using state-of-the-art equipment. A comprehensive examination includes assessment of the following:

 

• Focusing errors such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia
•  Internal eye Health including retinal photos
•  External eye health with slit lamp photos
•  Cataract
•  Glaucoma
•  Macular Degeneration
•  Diabetic Eye Disease
•  Dry, Eyes, infections, inflammation and allergies
•  Visual Fields
•  Driving assessments
•  Binocular vision and eye co-ordination problems
•  Colour Vision
•  Contact Lens Options

 

At the end of your examination you will receive a full explanation of your vision and eye health, and will be given a personalised recommendation of which solutions best fit your visual needs.  We will co-manage your care with your GP, or ophthalmologist where required.

 

Eye examinations are mostly covered by Medicare but there may be some out-of-pocket costs relating to digital imaging which are not covered by Medicare. We will discuss these with you before proceeding.
